Class divided in small groups; each group collects and presents information about the two creators and some of their representative works. Presentation of the poem, discussion and interpretation of its ideas. Highlighting of the differences included in the poetic ideas. Searching for other poems of Odysseas Elytis that mark out his love for Greece. Teaching-learning of the song. Listening the song from two different recordings by different performers (f.i. Dimitris Lagios, Giorgos Dalaras) and comparison of the performances. Statement of the students’ personal preferences. Encouragement of the students to set dynamics and other expressive elements in the song, according to their own opinion. Performance of the song with the expressive elements that have been suggested by the students. Exercises with triplets (acoustic recognition, reading and writing, performance). Composition of melodies with motives using triplets by the students. Focus on the upwards movement of the melodic phrases. Comments on the idea of the composer to keep the same rhythmic structure and raise the melody step by step.
