Ιδέες διδασκαλίας:	Learning of the song. The students that have personal experience from visits in museums describe their impressions. Visit a museum of the city or the neighborhood. The students prepare themselves for presenting the song in a museum, after the necessary arrangements with the museum director/staff. When the students return to the class, they discuss about their experiences and impressions of the visit. Presentation of the work of Mussorgsky “Pictures at an Exhibition”. Listening to the main theme and selected extracts: the teacher writes the titles of the themes on the board and the students are asked to match them with the sounds they listen to (hypotheses, presentation of their ideas using musical terms). Introduction to the pick-up meter (experientially and theoretically): examples, dictation, exercises of musical reading and writing (dictation of rhythmical patterns). The students get acquainted with painted portraits of various art periods (Fayum, Renaissance, byzantine icons, pop-art, self-portraits, etc.). Observations and comparisons.
